The guys are still in uniform blue.
And for all the times we've cried
I always felt that God was on our side

A Hutchinson for Murder One Reboot.
Vanessa Hutchinson's sudden reappearance into her ex-husband's life unsettles Hutch and Starsky in more ways than they can anticipate. She shows up just as both men are on the cusp of facing some deep truths about their long-term partnership and where it might be heading.
Vanessa's late night arrival rocks Hutch emotionally and immediately propels Starsky into protective mode, since he is wary and skeptical of her reasons for seeking Hutch's attention. Compounding Vanessa's troubles: a doubly unforgiving Starsky, who--fresh out of a disastrous personal relationship himself--is more hostile toward her than ever before. Suspicious about why she is back, Starsky is unprepared for the real motives behind her attempts to insinuate herself back into Hutch's life.
When Vanessa's desperate bid to involve Starsky personally into her secret and dangerous activities plunges them both into a lethal nightmare, Starsky will be forced to revisit ghosts from a part of his life he thought he'd left behind.
This story, which is complete, will be posted in chapters as it is edited.
Starsky and Hutch have a conversation to pass the time.
Gillian's comment to Starsky haunts him and makes him reconsider his feelings for Hutch.
"Do you trust me Hutch?"
"Of course, why would you ask me..."
A chance meeting with someone from Starsky's past shakes Hutch to his core.
Just a short slashy scene without any plot or substance. Just for fun.
You're the best friend that I ever had
I've been with you such a long time

It's been four years since Gunther tried to kill Starsky and Hutch. That was in 2010. The attempted hit left Starsky unable to work the streets, so he and Hutch went back to school. Now Hutch is working in the coroner's office, while Starsky's counseling kids. Starsky, who saw his father gunned down and killed, is making the best of his life and is grateful to have it. Hutch -- also grateful that Starsky is still alive and with him -- hasn't quite been able to put the past behind him.
Starsky threw wide a paneled door. "After you," he invited courteously.
Hutch surveyed their new territory. Rocks and boulders seemed to constitute its dominant features, casting shadows on the rough, uneven stone surfaces of walls and ceiling...
Starsky hugged him closer, propelling him further into their cave and closing the door. Hutch hugged back... "Isn't a cave going to be cold?" he suggested.
"Not this cave. Not when I'm right here with you..."
‘He was free to say or do whatever he wanted … and the one person who he yearned to love, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, till death and beyond was the one person he couldn’t. The one person who made him really believe in true love for the first time in his deprived existence, in the everlasting marriage of two souls, in a happily ever after. And then shattered it all with mere words.’
In fanfics, I've sometimes seen Hutch likened to a Viking, or even a Viking god. Then I thought, why not Hutch as a real Viking? And for a Secret Santa, it was obvious that the story should be about the midwinter celebration, Yule. This is a mood-piece, a little slice-of-life, as things almost could have been, at the west coast of Jylland, at Midwinter, 954.
